CPI(M) Alleges ₹1,000 Crore House Tax Burden

The CPI(M) has accused the Andhra Pradesh government of imposing an additional ₹1,000 crore house tax burden on urban residents. Party leader Ch. Babu Rao stated the government broke its promise to review the property-tax system, which he claims has increased taxes by 131% over six years. He further alleged a 30% increase this year, with penalties for violations and delayed payments. The party also fears reintroduction of waste charges and privatisation of civic services.

सी.पी.आई.(एम) ने आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार पर शहरी निवासियों पर ₹1,000 करोड़ का अतिरिक्त गृह कर का बोझ डालने का आरोप लगाया है। पार्टी नेता सी.एच. बाबू राव ने कहा कि सरकार ने संपत्ति कर प्रणाली की समीक्षा करने का वादा तोड़ा, जिससे छह साल में कर 131% बढ़ गए हैं। उन्होंने इस साल 30% वृद्धि और जुर्माने का भी आरोप लगाया। पार्टी को कचरा शुल्क फिर से लागू होने और नागरिक सेवाओं के निजीकरण का भी डर है।
