Karnataka Legislative Council Election Dates Announced

Elections for four vacant seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council will be held on October 23, 2026, with results declared on October 27. The seats represent South East Graduates, West Graduates, North East Teachers, and Bangalore Teachers constituencies. While most incumbents are BJP, the JD(S) will contest the Bangalore Teachers seat against Congress. This election occurs as five nominated seats remain vacant in the 75-member house.

कर्नाटक विधान परिषद की चार खाली सीटों के लिए 23 अक्टूबर 2026 को चुनाव होंगे। नतीजे 27 अक्टूबर को आएंगे। ये सीटें साउथ ईस्ट ग्रेजुएट्स, वेस्ट ग्रेजुएट्स, नॉर्थ ईस्ट टीचर्स और बेंगलुरु टीचर्स निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों का प्रतिनिधित्व करती हैं। ज्यादातर मौजूदा विधायक बीजेपी के हैं, लेकिन जेडी(एस) बेंगलुरु टीचर्स सीट पर कांग्रेस के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ेगी। यह चुनाव ऐसे समय हो रहा है जब 75 सदस्यीय सदन में पांच मनोनीत सीटें खाली हैं।
