UP Voter List Irregularities: 10,000 Entries Altered Without Proper Forms

Over 10,000 entries in the Pilibhit voter list were found to be altered without necessary applications, including changes to names and parentage. Following a complaint by the Samajwadi Party, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa ordered a statewide investigation into similar discrepancies across Uttar Pradesh. The probe revealed that many entries were modified online without the mandatory Form-8 submission. This lapse is considered a serious offense, leading to legal action against VRC operators and approving officials, with some already removed from election duties.

पीलीभीत की वोटर लिस्ट में 10,000 से ज़्यादा एंट्री बिना ज़रूरी एप्लीकेशन के बदली हुई पाई गईं, जिनमें नाम और माता-पिता के नाम में बदलाव शामिल था। समाजवादी पार्टी की शिकायत के बाद, मुख्य चुनाव अधिकारी नवदीप Rinwa ने पूरे उत्तर प्रदेश में ऐसी ही गड़बड़ियों की जांच के आदेश दिए हैं। जांच में पता चला कि कई एंट्री बिना ज़रूरी फॉर्म-8 भरे ऑनलाइन बदली गई थीं। इस चूक को एक गंभीर अपराध माना जा रहा है, जिसके चलते VRC ऑपरेटरों और मंज़ूरी देने वाले अधिकारियों के खिलाफ़ कानूनी कार्रवाई होगी, और कुछ को चुनाव ड्यूटी से हटा भी दिया गया है।
