New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has endorsed three progressive candidates who have successfully won their Democratic primaries ahead of the midterm elections. Claire Valdez, Brad Lander, and Darializa Avila Chevalier are now the party's nominees, with their heavily Democratic districts making their election to Congress likely. Their platforms include abolishing ICE, ending US military aid to Israel, and establishing a public healthcare system. The primaries effectively served as the main electoral event for voters in these districts, testing the candidates' ability to translate bold campaign promises into actionable policy.
