Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar officially took charge as the full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Lok Bhavan in Chennai. He was recently appointed to this gubernatorial office by President Droupadi Murmu. Previously, Mr. Arlekar served as the Governor of Keralam and had been concurrently handling the duties of Tamil Nadu Governor since March 5, 2026. This transition follows the previous Governor's appointment to West Bengal. Officials were present during the ceremony.

राजेंद्र विश्वनाथ आर्लेकर ने गुरुवार, 15 अक्टूबर 2026 को चेन्नई के लोक भवन में तमिलनाडु के पूर्णकालिक राज्यपाल के रूप में आधिकारिक तौर पर कार्यभार संभाला। उन्हें हाल ही में राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने इस राज्यपाल पद पर नियुक्त किया था। इससे पहले, श्री आर्लेकर केरल के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य कर चुके थे और 5 मार्च 2026 से तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल के कर्तव्यों का अतिरिक्त निर्वहन कर रहे थे। यह बदलाव पिछले राज्यपाल की पश्चिम बंगाल में नियुक्ति के बाद हुआ है। समारोह के दौरान अधिकारी मौजूद थे।
