A new study warns that rising sea levels due to climate change could enable invasive marine species to spread into new territories. Researchers analyzed 122 invasive species and found that by 2050, approximately 3.6 lakh square kilometers of coastal land could be submerged. By 2100, this figure could reach 5.5 lakh square kilometers, creating suitable habitats for these invaders. This expansion poses a significant threat to native species, potentially increasing competition for food and space in affected regions.
