SC Dismisses MLA Danam Nagender's Defection Plea

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed MLA Danam Nagender's plea challenging his disqualification by the Telangana High Court. The High Court had disqualified Nagender, an MLA from Khairatabad, for defecting to the Congress and contesting the Lok Sabha elections while still a BRS legislator. A bench observed it was a clear case of 'Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram'. The court found no grounds to interfere with the High Court's order, upholding the disqualification.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को तेलंगाना हाई कोर्ट द्वारा विधायक दानम नागेंद्र की अयोग्यता को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी। हाई कोर्ट ने खैराताबाद के विधायक नागेंद्र को कांग्रेस में शामिल होने और बीआरएस विधायक रहते हुए लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ने पर अयोग्य घोषित किया था। कोर्ट ने इसे 'आया राम, गया राम' का स्पष्ट मामला बताया। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हाई कोर्ट के फैसले में दखल देने से इनकार कर दिया और अयोग्यता को बरकरार रखा।
