Madras HC Grants Bail to Accused in Caste Killing Case

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has granted conditional bail to K. Jayapal, a co-accused in the caste killing of Kavin Selvaganesh. Jayapal, the cousin of the main accused Surjith, was arrested on August 13, 2025. The court noted that while Jayapal allegedly participated in the conspiracy and execution, he was not directly involved in the murder itself. He is accused of aiding the main accused in destroying evidence and intimidating witnesses.
