Yes Bank AT-1 Ruling Won't Impact Ratings, S&P Global Ratings Says
Economic Times Markets · stocks
S&P Global Ratings stated that India's Supreme Court ruling against Yes Bank will not affect its ratings, despite a potential earnings hit. The court set aside the bank's write-off of 84 billion rupees in additional tier-1 bonds, a move that had been defended by regulators. S&P expects Yes Bank to remain adequately capitalized, with its risk-adjusted capital ratio projected to stay between 8.0% and 8.5% through March 2028. The agency anticipates the hit to common equity will be largely offset by the reinstatement of the bonds.
