This comes after a previous order in July removed oversight, allowing Khanna to report directly to the Commission. Two Election Commissioners had raised objections to the earlier order, citing concerns about the process and lack of consultation. The latest directive requires Khanna to route IT and Grievance files through a Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, Pawan Kumar Sharma, restoring a layer of supervision to the department's operations.
