PCMC to Add 22 New Fire Vehicles

PCMC fire brigade plans to acquire 22 new vehicles, including 70m and 90m aerial platforms, to enhance rescue operations in high-rise buildings. This significant fleet expansion aims to address the growing number of 25-30 storey structures in the city. The new vehicles will feature lifts for faster rescue of stranded individuals. The civic body has allocated Rs60 crore for these purchases, with specialized European-manufactured vehicles expected to arrive in about a year. This upgrade follows a recent fire incident where residents were trapped.

पिंपरी-चिंचवड फायर ब्रिगेड 70 मीटर और 90 मीटर की एरियल प्लेटफॉर्म सहित 22 नई गाड़ियां खरीदने की योजना बना रही है ताकि ऊंची इमारतों में बचाव कार्यों को बेहतर बनाया जा सके। इस बड़े बेड़े के विस्तार का मकसद शहर में 25-30 मंजिला इमारतों की बढ़ती संख्या को पूरा करना है। नई गाड़ियों में फंसे लोगों को तेजी से बचाने के लिए लिफ्ट की सुविधा होगी। नगर निगम ने इन खरीदों के लिए 60 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए हैं, और विशेष यूरोपीय-निर्मित गाड़ियां लगभग एक साल में आने की उम्मीद है। यह अपग्रेड हाल ही में आग लगने की एक घटना के बाद हुआ है जिसमें निवासी फंसे हुए थे।
