Patna Women Professors Protest Forced Affiliation To New University

Faculty members of J D Women's College in Patna marched against their "forced" affiliation to Mata Sita Women's University. They also demanded the revocation of the Bihar Special Universities Act, 2026, which enables the establishment of specialised universities with the chief minister as chancellor. Police detained several protesters midway through the march, citing public disorder and traffic disruption. Protesters stated their service conditions would be affected and they wished to remain under Patliputra University.

पटना में जे डी महिला कॉलेज की फैकल्टी सदस्यों ने माता सीता महिला विश्वविद्यालय से अपनी "जबरन" संबद्धता के खिलाफ मार्च निकाला। उन्होंने विशेष विश्वविद्यालयों की स्थापना को सक्षम बनाने वाले बिहार विशेष विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम, 2026 को रद्द करने की भी मांग की, जिसके कुलाधिपति मुख्यमंत्री होंगे। पुलिस ने सार्वजनिक अव्यवस्था और यातायात व्यवधान का हवाला देते हुए कई प्रदर्शनकारियों को मार्च के बीच में ही हिरासत में ले लिया। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने कहा कि उनकी सेवा शर्तों पर असर पड़ेगा और वे पाटलिपुत्र विश्वविद्यालय के अधीन रहना चाहते हैं।
