An Australian court has dismissed an appeal by Erin Patterson, known as the 'mushroom murderer,' against her conviction for poisoning three relatives with a mushroom-laced meal. The Supreme Court of Victoria ruled that Patterson should serve the rest of her life in prison without the possibility of parole. Justices described the offending as extraordinarily cold and calculated, deeming it inappropriate to fix a non-parole period. Patterson was convicted last year for the murders of Gail and Donald Patterson, and Heather Wilkinson, and the attempted murder of Heather's husband, Ian Wilkinson.
