Coimbatore's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are facing significant challenges due to a sharp rise in copper prices, which have doubled in the past year to approximately Rs 1,500 per kg. This surge impacts sectors like sugar mill machinery, paper mills, and gear manufacturers, increasing production costs and disrupting pricing for orders. Manufacturers are struggling with price volatility between order placement and production, leading some to explore alternative businesses.

कोयंबटूर के माइक्रो, स्मॉल और मीडियम एंटरप्राइजेज (MSMEs) को तांबे की कीमतों में आई भारी बढ़ोतरी के कारण बड़ी मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। पिछले एक साल में तांबे की कीमत करीब 1,500 रुपये प्रति किलो तक दोगुनी हो गई है। इस उछाल का असर शुगर मिल मशीनरी, पेपर मिल और गियर निर्माताओं जैसे क्षेत्रों पर पड़ रहा है, जिससे उत्पादन लागत बढ़ गई है और ऑर्डर की कीमतों में गड़बड़ी आ गई है। निर्माता ऑर्डर देने और उत्पादन के बीच कीमतों में उतार-चढ़ाव से जूझ रहे हैं, जिसके कारण कुछ लोग वैकल्पिक व्यवसायों की तलाश कर रहे हैं।
