Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda is slated for a major transformation with a Rs 2,100 crore investment approved by the central government. This expansion aims to significantly enhance air connectivity in western Odisha, boost passenger handling capacity, and facilitate more domestic and international flights. Plans include extending the runway, constructing a second terminal, and adding more parking bays. The project will also involve acquiring an additional 226 acres of land. This upgrade is expected to stimulate trade, industry, and tourism in the region, attracting further investments.

झारसुगुड़ा का वीर सुरेंद्र साई एयरपोर्ट केंद्र सरकार द्वारा ₹2,100 करोड़ के निवेश के साथ एक बड़े बदलाव के लिए तैयार है। इस विस्तार का लक्ष्य पश्चिमी ओडिशा में हवाई संपर्क को महत्वपूर्ण रूप से बढ़ाना, यात्रियों को संभालने की क्षमता को बढ़ावा देना और अधिक घरेलू और अंतरराष्ट्रीय उड़ानों को सुविधाजनक बनाना है। योजनाओं में रनवे का विस्तार करना, एक दूसरा टर्मिनल बनाना और अधिक पार्किंग बे जोड़ना शामिल है। इस परियोजना में 226 एकड़ अतिरिक्त भूमि का अधिग्रहण भी शामिल होगा। इस अपग्रेड से क्षेत्र में व्यापार, उद्योग और पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है, जिससे और अधिक निवेश आकर्षित होगा।
