Connecticut Tenant Awarded $1.6 Million After Fall, But Payment Delayed By Appeal
Times of India - India · india
A Connecticut tenant, Michael Criscuolo, 65, has not yet received the $1.6 million awarded to him after a severe foot injury from tripping over construction debris. The incident occurred in May 2024 outside his unlit apartment building in Seymour, Connecticut. A default judgment was issued in January 2026 after the landlord failed to respond to the lawsuit. However, the landlord is now appealing the decision, claiming improper service of legal papers, which indefinitely delays payment of the damages, including over $650,000 in medical bills.
