Madrid's well-known La Ermita shopping centre, a former entertainment hub that hosted David Bowie concerts and Carlos Sainz go-karting, has been demolished. The site, which opened in the 1990s, will be redeveloped into 529 homes, including two residential towers, as part of a €77 million real estate project. The mall featured attractions like the Aqualung concert venue, an indoor water park, and a bowling alley. Despite its past popularity, the complex had deteriorated significantly in recent years. The redevelopment aims to regenerate the area and increase housing supply.
