Himachal Pradesh Universities to Appoint Nodal Security Officers Post Unrest

Himachal Pradesh's 17 private universities will now appoint nodal security officers to coordinate with district police chiefs and enhance campus safety. This decision follows recent incidents at universities in neighbouring states and aims to strengthen security measures across all campuses. The move includes joint security audits and emergency response protocols. Universities are also directed to appoint authorised spokespersons and collaborate with police cybercrime units to prevent rumour mongering. The initiative also focuses on curbing drug-related activities and promoting cyber safety among students.

हिमाचल प्रदेश की 17 निजी यूनिवर्सिटी अब जिला पुलिस प्रमुखों के साथ तालमेल बिठाने और कैंपस की सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए नोडल सुरक्षा अधिकारी नियुक्त करेंगी। यह फैसला पड़ोसी राज्यों के विश्वविद्यालयों में हाल की घटनाओं के बाद लिया गया है और इसका उद्देश्य सभी परिसरों में सुरक्षा उपायों को मजबूत करना है। इस कदम में संयुक्त सुरक्षा ऑडिट और आपातकालीन प्रतिक्रिया प्रोटोकॉल शामिल हैं। विश्वविद्यालयों को अधिकृत प्रवक्ता नियुक्त करने और अफवाहों को रोकने के लिए पुलिस साइबर अपराध इकाइयों के साथ सहयोग करने का भी निर्देश दिया गया है। इस पहल में नशीली दवाओं से संबंधित गतिविधियों पर अंकुश लगाने और छात्रों के बीच साइबर सुरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने पर भी ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है।
