New Chief Priests Selected for Sabarimala and Malikappuram Temples

Subrahmanyan Sankaran Namboothiri has been appointed the new chief priest of the Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala, while A. Damodaran Namboothiri will serve as the chief priest of the Malikappuram Devi temple. Both priests were selected through a draw of lots on October 18 from panels shortlisted by the Travancore Devaswom Board. They will assume their one-year charge on November 15, just before the annual Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season begins.
