Business Standard · business

India is projected to gain over 100 million new long-term investors by 2035, with a significant shift towards individuals from smaller cities, women, and younger demographics. EY India's report highlights that while digital infrastructure is advanced, the key challenge lies in encouraging regular investment, risk understanding, and diversification. Currently, India has approximately 500-550 million UPI users, far exceeding the number of mutual fund and equity market participants. This indicates a substantial untapped potential for wealth creation beyond metropolitan areas.
