Karnataka Govt Commits to Zilla, Taluk Panchayat Polls by January

Karnataka's Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshwar B Khandre announced the government's full commitment to holding Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections by late December or January. Constituency delimitation and reservation notifications have been published, with the final draft notification to follow after reviewing objections. The State Election Commission will then set the polling schedule. The minister also assured sufficient funds for drought relief and rural water supply, with Rs 306 crore allocated. Additionally, enhanced safety protocols for tamed elephants during public events were emphasized following a recent incident.

कर्नाटक के ग्रामीण विकास और पंचायत राज मंत्री ईश्वर बी खंडेरे ने सरकार की ज़िला पंचायत और तालुक पंचायत चुनाव देर दिसंबर या जनवरी तक कराने की पूरी प्रतिबद्धता की घोषणा की है। निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों के परिसीमन और आरक्षण की सूचनाएं प्रकाशित कर दी गई हैं, और आपत्तियों की समीक्षा के बाद अंतिम मसौदा सूचना जारी की जाएगी। इसके बाद राज्य चुनाव आयोग मतदान का कार्यक्रम तय करेगा। मंत्री ने सूखे से राहत और ग्रामीण जल आपूर्ति के लिए पर्याप्त धन का भी आश्वासन दिया, जिसके लिए 306 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, हाल की एक घटना के बाद सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रमों के दौरान पालतू हाथियों के लिए सुरक्षा प्रोटोकॉल बढ़ाने पर भी जोर दिया गया।
