The Kerala government has ordered a vigilance inquiry into Chief Election Commissioner Ganeshkumar concerning a 20-year-old case. The probe relates to the 2006 suicide of a Malaysian engineer, Lee See Bean, who allegedly named Ganeshkumar, then PWD Secretary, in his suicide note. The note accused PWD officials of corruption and harassment. A previous vigilance investigation into the matter did not reach a conclusive result. The government is now seeking to review the old investigation records to determine if external influences hindered its progress.
