Fever in children can sometimes signal sepsis, a life-threatening response to infection, warns paediatrician Dr Amit Vij. Parents should watch for seven key signs beyond fever alone. These include rapid or difficult breathing, unusual sleepiness, refusal to drink, low urine output, pale or bluish skin, cold extremities with weakness, and a rash that doesn't fade when pressed. Prompt medical attention is crucial if these symptoms appear, as sepsis can rapidly affect vital.

बच्चों में तेज बुखार कभी-कभी सेप्सिस का संकेत हो सकता है, जो संक्रमण के प्रति जानलेवा प्रतिक्रिया है। डॉक्टर अमित विज ने यह चेतावनी दी है। माता-पिता को बुखार के अलावा सात मुख्य लक्षणों पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। इनमें तेज या मुश्किल सांस लेना, बहुत ज्यादा नींद आना, कुछ भी पीने से मना करना, कम पेशाब आना, त्वचा का पीला या नीला पड़ना, हाथ-पैर ठंडे पड़ना और ऐसे दाने जो दबाने पर गायब न हों, शामिल हैं।
