ED Arrests Ex-Congress Treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal in Rice Milling Scam

ED has arrested former Chhattisgarh Congress treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal in connection with an alleged Rs 147-crore custom rice milling scam. The ED also filed a supplementary prosecution complaint against him in a separate liquor scam case, alleging Rs 860-880 crore was routed through the party's state headquarters. Agrawal was previously arrested on August 11 in the liquor case and placed in judicial custody. The agency provisionally attached two flats belonging to Agrawal valued at Rs 9.06 crore.

ईडी ने कथित 147 करोड़ रुपये के कस्टम राइस मिलिंग घोटाले के सिलसिले में छत्तीसगढ़ कांग्रेस के पूर्व कोषाध्यक्ष रामगोपाल अग्रवाल को गिरफ्तार किया है। ईडी ने एक अलग शराब घोटाला मामले में उनके खिलाफ एक पूरक अभियोजन शिकायत भी दर्ज की है, जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया है कि 860-880 करोड़ रुपये पार्टी के राज्य मुख्यालय के माध्यम से भेजे गए थे। अग्रवाल को पहले 11 अगस्त को शराब मामले में गिरफ्तार किया गया था और न्यायिक हिरासत में भेजा गया था। एजेंसी ने अग्रवाल की 9.06 करोड़ रुपये की दो फ्लैटों को अस्थायी रूप से कुर्क किया था।
