Dewas Villagers Demand Permanent Solution To Drinking Water Crisis

Times of India · india

Residents of Bhamori village in Dewas district submitted a memorandum to the Collectorate on Friday, demanding a permanent solution to their ongoing drinking water crisis. Despite a water tank under the Nal-Jal scheme, household taps remain dry due to depleted borewell water levels. Local women currently walk one to two kilometers daily to fetch water from open wells, while some families resort to paying for private water tankers. Villagers propose connecting the village to the Narmada pipeline as the only lasting measure to end the recurring water shortage.
