An affiliate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Jagran (SJM), has asked the Indian government to deny Elon Musk's Starlink a license for satellite internet services. SJM cited national security concerns, questioning Starlink's ability to restrict services during law-and-order situations and the potential for misuse by hostile actors. The organization highlighted that domestic telecom infrastructure allows for easier monitoring and restriction when necessary. They also pointed to Starlink equipment being recovered near sensitive borders and conflict zones, referencing international experiences.
