Supreme Court questions 3rd language in Class 9

The Supreme Court has questioned the Centre's move to introduce a third language in Class 9, deeming it stressful for students. Justice BV Nagarathna suggested introducing new languages earlier, around Class 6, to ease the burden. The court was hearing a plea challenging the establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार से नौवीं कक्षा में तीसरी भाषा शुरू करने के फैसले पर सवाल उठाया है। कोर्ट का मानना है कि इससे छात्रों पर अनावश्यक दबाव पड़ेगा। जस्टिस बीवी नागरत्ना ने सुझाव दिया कि नई भाषाएं छठी कक्षा के आसपास ही शुरू कर देनी चाहिए ताकि बच्चों पर बोझ कम हो। यह बात जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालयों की स्थापना को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका पर सुनवाई के दौरान कही गई।
