Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Ponguru Narayana, distributed housing pattas to 19 transgender individuals in Nellore city's 4th Division. This action followed a request made by the transgender community in August. The Minister also pledged to provide housing pattas to all transgender people in the city soon. He further announced financial assistance of ₹50,000 from his personal funds for house construction for each beneficiary, with plans to secure an additional ₹2.5 lakh from central and state governments.
