India faces a growing cancer challenge, with projections indicating a significant rise in new cases. GLOBOCAN 2022 reported 14.13 lakh new cancer cases and 9.16 lakh deaths in India. New estimates for 2024 suggest around 16 lakh new cases. Experts predict that due to population growth and an aging demographic, the number of new cases could reach approximately 28 lakh annually by 2050. This surge is compounded by late diagnoses, increasing treatment costs, and the emergence of cancer in younger age groups.
