Business Standard · business

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries is planning to raise approximately 100 billion rupees, equivalent to $1.04 billion, through a local debt sale. This move aims to partially fund a bridge loan previously secured for the acquisition of US healthcare firm Organon & Co. The company had earlier closed a nearly $12 billion, 18-month bridge loan for the acquisition. This debt issuance comes as Indian companies are increasingly looking to domestic funding due to rising US yields making dollar funding more expensive.
