Coastal Lions Primarily Eat Wild Prey

A recent study reveals that coastal lions predominantly rely on wild prey for sustenance. Blue bull (nilgai) constitutes the largest portion of their diet, making up 51% of consumed biomass. Wild pigs are the second most significant wild prey source. While cattle are consumed, they form a smaller part of the diet compared to wild animals.

हालिया रिसर्च से पता चला है कि तटीय शेर अपना पेट भरने के लिए ज़्यादातर जंगली शिकार पर ही निर्भर रहते हैं। उनके खाने में नीलगाय का हिस्सा सबसे ज़्यादा है, जो कुल खाए गए मांस का 51% है। जंगली सूअर दूसरे नंबर पर आते हैं। गाय-बैल भी खाए जाते हैं, लेकिन जंगली जानवरों के मुकाबले उनका हिस्सा कम है।
