Al Jazeera · world
US military forces have aided Gulf countries in exporting over 1.5 billion barrels of oil since June, despite Iranian efforts to control the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command reported that more than 3,000 commercial vessels transited the strait safely with their support over the past six months. Commander Admiral Brad Cooper emphasized the commitment to freedom of navigation and highlighted successful mine clearance operations. Crude oil flows have largely returned to pre-war levels, supported by offshore transfers, US escorts, and pipelines, though oil prices remain elevated.
