Maharashtra Drought Affects Over 1.4 Crore Hectares; Farmers to Receive Aid

Maharashtra's agriculture minister Dattatray Bharne announced that over 1.4 crore hectares of land have been impacted by drought. The panchnama process has been completed in 304 tehsils, with more tehsils, including those in Pune district, set to be added. The government is preparing to release financial aid to affected farmers soon. As an advance, Rs 5,000 per farmer will be disbursed before Diwali, with nearly 72 lakh farmers set to receive this payment. This initiative aims to provide relief and ensure the festival is not overshadowed by the drought conditions.

महाराष्ट्र के कृषि मंत्री दत्तात्रेय भरणे ने घोषणा की है कि 1.4 करोड़ हेक्टेयर से ज़्यादा ज़मीन सूखे से प्रभावित हुई है। 304 तहसीलों में पंचनामा की प्रक्रिया पूरी हो चुकी है, और पुणे ज़िले की तहसीलों सहित और भी तहसीलें इसमें जोड़ी जाएंगी। सरकार जल्द ही प्रभावित किसानों को वित्तीय सहायता जारी करने की तैयारी कर रही है। एडवांस के तौर पर, दिवाली से पहले प्रति किसान 5,000 रुपये दिए जाएंगे, और लगभग 72 लाख किसानों को यह भुगतान मिलेगा। इस पहल का मकसद राहत देना और यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि त्यौहार सूखे की वजह से फीके न पड़ें।
