Government hospitals in Haryana are grappling with a significant shortage of doctors, with 498 medical officer posts currently vacant. Rural districts are disproportionately affected, with Karnal, Hisar, and Jind reporting the highest number of empty positions. The lack of specialists like gynaecologists, paediatricians, and anaesthetists further exacerbates the crisis, forcing patients to travel long distances or face delays in care. This shortage particularly impacts poor families who rely on public healthcare, potentially leading to preventable health complications and deaths.

हरियाणा के सरकारी अस्पतालों में डॉक्टरों की भारी कमी है, 498 मेडिकल ऑफिसर के पद खाली पड़े हैं। ग्रामीण जिलों में यह समस्या ज़्यादा गंभीर है, करनाल, हिसार और जींद में सबसे ज़्यादा पद खाली हैं। स्त्री रोग विशेषज्ञ, बाल रोग विशेषज्ञ और एनेस्थेटिस्ट जैसे विशेषज्ञों की कमी से संकट और बढ़ गया है, जिससे मरीजों को लंबी दूरी तय करनी पड़ रही है या इलाज में देरी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। इस कमी का सबसे ज़्यादा असर गरीब परिवारों पर पड़ रहा है जो सरकारी स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर निर्भर हैं, जिससे स्वास्थ्य संबंधी जटिलताएँ और मौतें हो सकती हैं।
