The Goa Staff Selection Commission has successfully filled 83% of government primary teacher vacancies, recommending 325 candidates to the education department. The remaining posts could not be filled due to a shortage of OBC and EWS candidates. Out of 390 advertised posts, 2,063 applicants applied, with about 34% clearing the recruitment test. This recruitment occurs as government school enrollment in Goa declines, with private unaided schools now having more students than government institutions for the first time.
