Amazon River: Home to Giant Anacondas, Electric Eels, and Crocodiles
Aaj Tak · environment
The Amazon River in South America is known not only for its immense size and powerful currents but also for its dangerous wildlife. It is home to giant anacondas, crocodiles up to 6 meters long, and electric eels capable of delivering shocks. An estimated one thousand people die in the Amazon annually, primarily from drowning due to its strong currents and sudden floods. While many inhabitants rely on the river, its inherent risks from both the water's force and its formidable creatures make it a perilous environment.
