Manchester United manager Michael Carrick acknowledged the team has fallen short of expectations but expressed confidence they will emerge from a difficult period. The team has struggled in the Premier League, securing only six points from their first six matches, their worst start since the 1986-87 season. Despite these domestic struggles, United had a strong start in the Champions League. Carrick noted that periods of difficulty are part of a team's journey and emphasized the need to perform for the fans.
