Bill Gates Suggests Flight Path Changes To Combat Global Warming

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has identified that certain white trails left by planes, known as contrails, trap heat and contribute to global warming. He suggests that adjusting flight paths to avoid atmospheric areas where these persistent contrails form could significantly reduce aviation's climate impact. This method is proposed as a low-cost solution while cleaner technologies are developed. Gates has also supported the non-profit Contrails.org, which researches this issue and develops software to aid airlines in planning routes to mitigate warming effects.
