Omani Co-Pilot Attacked Flydubai Pilot, Israel PM Netanyahu Says

BBC Hindi · world

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Flydubai co-pilot who attempted to crash a Boeing 737 with 174 passengers was an Omani citizen. This raises questions about how he passed security checks, especially given the lack of diplomatic ties between Oman and Israel. The co-pilot, identified as Captain Smit Machar, attacked the pilot, who was previously identified as Indian. Both were hospitalized in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after the plane diverted there, and have since been sent to the UAE.
