Supreme Court Halts Coercive Action Against Punjab Govt Officials

The Supreme Court has directed that no coercive action be taken against individuals linked to the Punjab government as the CBI investigates corruption allegations. This order came in response to the Punjab government's plea to stay a high court directive for the CBI to probe corruption charges and submit a report. The allegations include cash for transfers and favourable policy decisions. The apex court issued notices to the Centre, CBI, and ED, clarifying that while the FIR is not stayed, coercive steps are halted.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सीबीआई द्वारा भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों की जांच के दौरान पंजाब सरकार से जुड़े व्यक्तियों के खिलाफ कोई भी कठोर कार्रवाई न करने का निर्देश दिया है। यह आदेश पंजाब सरकार की उस याचिका के जवाब में आया है जिसमें सीबीआई को भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों की जांच करने और रिपोर्ट सौंपने के उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देश पर रोक लगाने की मांग की गई थी। आरोपों में तबादलों के लिए पैसे लेना और पक्षपातपूर्ण नीतिगत निर्णय शामिल हैं। शीर्ष अदालत ने केंद्र, सीबीआई और ईडी को नोटिस जारी किया, यह स्पष्ट करते हुए कि एफआईआर पर रोक नहीं लगाई गई है, लेकिन कठोर कदम उठाए जाने पर रोक लगा दी गई है।
