Cyclone Likely Over Bay of Bengal; Andhra Pradesh, Odisha Face Rain Alert

A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 26, according to the India Meteorological Department. The system is projected to move towards the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. Coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are warned of extremely heavy to heavy rainfall between October 27 and 29. The next cyclone to form will be named Arnab, a name contributed by Bangladesh. This follows a similar system last month that brought heavy rain as a deep depression.

भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग के अनुसार, बंगाल की खाड़ी में बने एक निम्न दबाव के क्षेत्र के 26 अक्टूबर तक चक्रवाती तूफान में बदलने की उम्मीद है। इस सिस्टम के उत्तर आंध्र प्रदेश और दक्षिण ओडिशा के तटों की ओर बढ़ने का अनुमान है। आंध्र प्रदेश और ओडिशा के तटीय इलाकों को 27 से 29 अक्टूबर के बीच अत्यधिक भारी से भारी बारिश की चेतावनी दी गई है। बनने वाले अगले चक्रवात का नाम 'अरनाब' होगा, यह नाम बांग्लादेश ने सुझाया है। यह पिछले महीने इसी तरह की एक प्रणाली के बाद आया है जिसने गहरे दबाव के रूप में भारी बारिश की थी।
