Anxiety Disorders Affect 2.57% of Adults, But 83% Receive No Treatment

A National Mental Health Survey found that 2.57% of adults experience anxiety disorders, yet a staggering 83% of those affected do not receive any treatment. Nearly 60% of individuals with anxiety disorders reported experiencing disability of varying severity. Psychiatrists attribute this under-treatment to stigma surrounding mental illness and a general lack of awareness. Anxiety disorders can significantly interfere with daily life, manifesting in various forms from social anxiety to panic attacks, impacting work and personal interactions.
