India Building Largest Optical Telescope In Ladakh

India is set to construct its most ambitious astronomy facility, the 13.7-metre National Large Optical-Infrared Telescope (NLOT), in Hanle, Ladakh. This high-altitude desert location will host the telescope, which boasts nearly 15 times the light-collecting area of India's current 4-metre telescope. The NLOT project signifies a major advancement in India's ground-based astronomical research capabilities, positioning the nation at the forefront of optical and infrared astronomy.

भारत लद्दाख के हानले में अपना सबसे बड़ा खगोल विज्ञान केंद्र, 13.7 मीटर का नेशनल लार्ज ऑप्टिकल-इन्फ्रारेड टेलिस्कोप (NLOT) बनाने जा रहा है। यह टेलिस्कोप, जो भारत के मौजूदा 4 मीटर वाले टेलिस्कोप से लगभग 15 गुना ज़्यादा रोशनी इकट्ठा कर सकेगा, इस ऊँचे रेगिस्तानी इलाके में लगाया जाएगा। NLOT प्रोजेक्ट भारत की ज़मीनी खगोल विज्ञान क्षमता में एक बड़ा कदम है, जो देश को ऑप्टिकल और इन्फ्रारेड खगोल विज्ञान में आगे रखेगा।
