Bihar to Track Every Stillbirth Online To Record Causes of Infant Loss

Bihar is implementing a new Centre-backed system to track every stillbirth online across its health facilities. This initiative aims to establish a robust reporting mechanism for stillbirths, defined as babies born without signs of life at 28 weeks or more gestation. Previously, reporting was limited to basic hospital records. The new system will capture details on timing and causes, classifying them as antenatal, maternal, or intrapartum. Health facilities will conduct monthly reviews, districts will discuss cases monthly, and the state will examine selected cases quarterly to reduce stillbirth rates.

बिहार अपने स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं में हर मृत जन्म को ऑनलाइन ट्रैक करने के लिए केंद्र द्वारा समर्थित एक नई प्रणाली लागू कर रहा है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य मृत जन्मों के लिए एक मजबूत रिपोर्टिंग तंत्र स्थापित करना है, जिसे 28 सप्ताह या उससे अधिक के गर्भकाल में जीवन के कोई लक्षण न दिखने वाले शिशुओं के रूप में परिभाषित किया गया है। पहले, रिपोर्टिंग केवल बुनियादी अस्पताल रिकॉर्ड तक सीमित थी। नई प्रणाली समय और कारणों पर विवरण कैप्चर करेगी, उन्हें प्रसवपूर्व, मातृ या प्रसवकालीन के रूप में वर्गीकृत करेगी। स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं मासिक समीक्षा करेंगी, जिले मासिक रूप से मामलों पर चर्चा करेंगे, और राज्य मृत जन्म दर को कम करने के लिए चुनिंदा मामलों की तिमाही जांच करेगा।
