Andhra Pradesh Local Body Elections See Violence On Nomination Day

Andhra Pradesh witnessed significant unrest during the nomination process for local body elections, with 31 incidents reported across 13 districts. Police reported 22 cases involving violence and law and order breakdowns, alongside nine incidents of nomination papers being snatched or torn. Anantapur district recorded the highest number of incidents with eight cases. In response to the violence, which included stone-pelting and arson, police had to resort to a lathi-charge and fired tear gas shells.

आंध्र प्रदेश में स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों के लिए नामांकन प्रक्रिया के दौरान काफी अशांति देखी गई, जिसमें 13 जिलों में 31 घटनाएं दर्ज की गईं। पुलिस ने हिंसा और कानून व्यवस्था बिगड़ने से जुड़ी 22 मामले दर्ज किए, साथ ही नामांकन पत्र छीनने या फाड़ने की नौ घटनाएं भी हुईं। अनंतपुर जिले में सबसे अधिक आठ मामले दर्ज किए गए। पथराव और आगजनी जैसी हिंसा की घटनाओं के जवाब में पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा और आंसू गैस के गोले दागने पड़े।
