Elderly Woman Duped Of ₹52 Lakh By Cyber Fraudsters Posing As ATS Officers

A 65-year-old woman in Lucknow was allegedly held under "digital arrest" for four days by cyber fraudsters impersonating Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officers. The fraudsters threatened to implicate her in terror activities and demanded she break fixed deposits to transfer ₹52 lakh to their accounts. They claimed her phone was used for terrorist activities and that she was under investigation for money laundering. The victim was warned against speaking to anyone, leading her to comply with the demands.

लखनऊ में 65 साल की एक महिला को चार दिनों तक साइबर ठगों ने एंटी-टेररिज्म स्क्वाड (ATS) के अधिकारी बनकर 'डिजिटल अरेस्ट' पर रखा। ठगों ने उसे आतंकी गतिविधियों में फंसाने की धमकी दी और फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट तोड़कर ₹52 लाख अपने खातों में ट्रांसफर करने की मांग की। उन्होंने दावा किया कि उसके फोन का इस्तेमाल आतंकी गतिविधियों के लिए किया गया था और वह मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग की जांच के दायरे में थी। पीड़ित को किसी से भी बात न करने की चेतावनी दी गई थी, जिससे वह उनकी मांगों को मानने लगी।
