The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the reappointment of Dr Suresh Kumar Singhal as director of PGIMS Rohtak for a three-year term. The court directed the Haryana government to appoint a suitable person below 65 years of age, as per rules. Dr Sujata Shetty is currently holding the charge. The petitioner challenged Singhal's reappointment, arguing he exceeded the 65-year age limit stipulated by university statutes. The court has sought an explanation from the state government regarding the reappointment process and age limit relaxation.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने डॉ सुरेश कुमार सिंघल की पीजीआईएमएस रोहतक के निदेशक के तौर पर तीन साल के लिए पुनः नियुक्ति पर रोक लगा दी है। कोर्ट ने हरियाणा सरकार को नियमों के अनुसार 65 साल से कम उम्र के उपयुक्त व्यक्ति को नियुक्त करने का निर्देश दिया है। डॉ सुजाता शेट्टी वर्तमान में प्रभार संभाल रही हैं। याचिकाकर्ता ने सिंघल की पुनः नियुक्ति को चुनौती दी थी, यह तर्क देते हुए कि वह विश्वविद्यालय के नियमों द्वारा निर्धारित 65 वर्ष की आयु सीमा को पार कर गए थे। कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार से पुनः नियुक्ति प्रक्रिया और आयु सीमा में छूट के संबंध में स्पष्टीकरण मांगा है।
