India's 122-Year-Old Kalka-Shimla Track To Get Hydrogen Trains

India's Railways is set to introduce hydrogen trains on the historic 122-year-old Kalka-Shimla UNESCO World Heritage track. This initiative, part of the 'Hydrogen for Heritage' plan, aims to protect the natural beauty of the route from pollution. A special team has nearly completed a survey for operating hydrogen trains and establishing a fuel plant near Barog railway station. The trains will use hydrogen fuel cell technology, emitting only water vapor instead of harmful smoke, thus preserving the surrounding forests.

भारतीय रेलवे 122 साल पुराने ऐतिहासिक कालका-शिमला यूनेस्को विश्व धरोहर ट्रैक पर हाइड्रोजन ट्रेनें शुरू करने जा रही है। 'हाइड्रोजन फॉर हेरिटेज' योजना के तहत यह पहल प्रदूषण से मार्ग की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता को बचाने के लिए है। एक विशेष टीम ने बारोग रेलवे स्टेशन के पास हाइड्रोजन ट्रेनें चलाने और ईंधन संयंत्र स्थापित करने के लिए सर्वेक्षण लगभग पूरा कर लिया है। ट्रेनें हाइड्रोजन फ्यूल सेल तकनीक का उपयोग करेंगी, जिससे हानिकारक धुएं के बजाय केवल जल वाष्प निकलेगी, इस प्रकार आसपास के जंगलों का संरक्षण होगा।
