Indian students applying for Australian visas will face expanded biometric requirements starting October 26. Eligible applicants will need to provide fingerprints and a facial image as part of the process. The Department of Home Affairs will directly notify affected applicants with instructions on how to proceed, either at a VFS Global centre or via the Australian Immi App. This measure aims to enhance identity verification and prevent fraud. Visa processing times are not expected to be impacted if applicants comply promptly with the new biometric collection rules.
