गोंडा के किसान किशन लाल मौर्या ने पारंपरिक फसलों से हटकर 1.5 बीघा ज़मीन पर गेंदे की खेती शुरू की है। वह बनारसी किस्म उगा रहे हैं, जो तोड़ने के बाद तीन से चार दिनों तक ताज़ी रहती है। इन फूलों की स्थानीय बाज़ारों और अयोध्या में धार्मिक कार्यक्रमों व शादियों के लिए काफी मांग है। मौर्या ने ₹10,000 का निवेश किया है और रोपाई के चार महीने के भीतर ₹50,000 से ₹60,000 कमाने की उम्मीद कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने भविष्य में गेंदे की खेती का विस्तार करने की योजना बनाई है, जो सही फसल के चुनाव से अच्छी आय की संभावना को दर्शाता है।
